Simana’s Diaries

Simana’s Diaries -2- Daughter of the Earth

In the silence

of the forest, there was a stream trickling through the rocks. The water wound its way through the stones, blending light and shadow. The water’s surface was so restless it couldn’t even hold the sky.

Simana leaned over, wanting to look at her own reflection; but the water would not reveal her face. Everything was swept away by the current; even Simana’s features were breaking apart and disappearing.

A sense of fear gripped

her:

“If even the water won’t hold me, who am I?”

At

that moment, the water spoke with a whisper rising from between the rocks:

“My secret is that I am not bound to anything. I exist as I flow. What stands still dries up; what lets go is renewed.”

Simana dipped her hands into the water. The icy current seeped into her veins; even the rhythm of her own heart seemed to blend with this flow.

The

water carried both the past and the future with it, and for the first time, she was fully in the present.

She

realized that the moment a person stops moving, they turn to stone. Those who drown in their memories wither and crack. But those who choose to flow open new paths. Because the truth of water is not to stop when faced with an obstacle, but to change course in order to continue.

Simana stood up and matched her steps to the rhythm of the stream.

She was no

longer walking—she was flowing.

Every breath became a drop, every step a wave.

And in that moment, she whispered:

“I am not merely the daughter of the earth.

I am, as the water reminds me: one who does not stop the flow, but charts her own path with her very being…”
