Simana’s Diaries

Simana’s Diaries -8- Spirit Animal

That day, the fog was spreading gently among the trees. The leaves were silent; the birds were quiet.

Time wasn’t flowing like a river; it seemed to be lying still on the ground, resting.

Simana moved forward, trying not to disturb the forest’s slumber with the sound of her footsteps.

Suddenly, her eyes caught a movement. A crimson shadow glided through the branches. Still… Slippery…

As if it were made of the wind itself. A fox!

The color

of its fur was the deepest red.

Its

eyes were like amber; but in those eyes there was no animal instinct—only the answers to unasked questions. Its steps were silent. Yet with every step, the earth seemed to come to life a little more.

The

fox stopped right in front of Simana. It neither fled nor approached… It simply looked… Simana looked back. Their eyes met.

But this felt like more than just an ordinary encounter with an animal… It was like looking into a mirror. It was like seeing not just your reflection, but who you were meant to be.

The

fox showed no sign of fear. Its eyes were both intelligent and patient. It was as if they had known each other for years, yet today was the first time they were looking into each other’s eyes.

The

fox began to walk. But then it stopped and looked back. Simana followed that gaze. And together they plunged into the forest.

The

trees grew slender. The fog thickened. The ground softened. And the world began to turn into a dream.

As the

fox moved forward, its fur shifted from red to silver. Each step seemed to scatter stardust; yet it left no trace.

Simana watched, squinting. And a secret place opened up inside her heart:

“You… You were a void inside

me. Now I am whole.”

But she didn’t speak these words aloud. She just looked. And at that moment, the fox stopped. Simana did too…

Once again, their eyes met. Two gazes. Two solitudes. And now, a single silence.

The

fox approached. It tilted its head slightly. And Simana reached out her hand. She didn’t touch it. But they shared the air between them.

The

fox turned back. And, blending into the fog, it vanished.

Simana didn’t turn back. She sat down on a rock.

She placed

her hand on her chest. And it was as if not tears, but a light, fell from her eyes. She murmured:

“Sometimes paths don’t lead you anywhere…

They simply give back what’s

already within you.

You were hidden within me…

You emerged when

I saw myself.”
